Universal Access to Health Care – How Likely Is It?

Much of the focus at election time is geared toward the economy and other domestic issues.  Most often, talk revolves around tax cuts and social security, but there is an increasing demand for health care reform.

While state and federal governments work toward easing the crisis a little at a time, there is likely to be a strong demand for immediate action to be taken as the baby boomer generation requires additional health care and finds proper coverage lacking in our society.

Whether or not you have health insurance can rely heavily on what your employer has to pay for coverage.  Some opt not to offer coverage at all, due to rising premiums – a result of increased malpractice insurance and uninsured absorption costs.

When the job market is rocky, health coverage is hard to come by.  Employers have more applicants than they know what to do with – and many of them are willing to work without having to entice them with added benefits such as insurance.
